The Shadows of Clouds blends historical fiction with historical accuracy to breathe life into a unique contemporary AND period drama. Michael completed the script after a year and a half of Civil War research with both primary and secondary sources.

Michael Angelo Colgan PhD is a writer, filmmaker and award-winning social scientist who used to be a stand-up comic. The seeds for The Shadows of Clouds were planted from Michael’s research in ethics, media, politics and intercultural communication. Michael's screenplay Crayons ranked in the Top 10% of the 2019 Academy Nicholl Fellowship, earned 2nd Rounder Status at the Austin Film Festival, won StoryPros 1st Place Drama Award and Best Screenplay at the Sunscreen Film Festival West.
